Trust and believe - my prescription

Obviously the Lord is not one of those darling doctors that prescribe you tylenol for all the pains you have, give you a handshake and tell you it is going to be alright.

The Lord is thorough. The Lord embraces us. The Lord comforts you. He is the healer above all healers. He is the perfect doctor who writes you explanations and daily doses on each box. He sits with you the whole day if needed and even sends the nurse home to make sure you are alright. Got the picture? He handed me my prescription in Psalm 37:3-6. More thorough than that....girlfriend, I am not sure he could.

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
he will bring forth your righteousness as light
and your justice as the noonday.

The prescription is simple: first of all, repent from your subtle sin of self-sufficiency. Trust, trust, trust. Without predicting or trying to control the future. Delight and rejoice in the Lord. O praise him with all that you have; declare who he is, remind yourself of the Lord God you love and serve. Rejoice in this presence. Dwell in his mountain. Then, train your mind to seek God continuously. Commit your ways to the Lord - he goes before you to the battle. He has finished his work since the foundation of the world. Why worry? He is in the future right now, as much as he is in the present. Dwell in his peace and in his rest. Wait patiently for his righteousness. Because it is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord (Lamentations 3:22-33).
